Eid al-Fitr Operating Hours and Restaurant Specials

​Eid Mubarak! Eid al-Fitr is expected to commence on May 13 and some Community Life areas offer special promotions and operate with adjusted hours during the holiday period.  

In general, our facilities and services run on their regular schedule during Eid. Exceptions are listed below:

KAUST Health 

  • As always, 911 emergency response and the Emergency Department operate 24/7 
  • Clinic is closed – May 12 - May16 
  • Normal opening hours resume Monday, May 17

Transportation  

There will be no Work Haul Bus and Jeddah Medical buses during Eid. Effective May 16, the medical bus will be available. Check the bus services page for the schedule. 

 

Mail & Courier Services

  • Mailroom closed from Tuesday, May 11 to Monday, May17
  • Normal opening hours resume Tuesday, May 18
  • Last day for domestic outbound is May 09, while for international outbound is May 11. 


The HQ Teen Space

The Teen space is open in a different schedule and available for more ages during Eid. Learn more. 


Retail and Restaurants: 

All food and retail outlets are operating on their regular working hours, except:   

  • Facilities Diner: Closed 1st, 2nd and 3rd day of Eid. Otherwise operating normal hours.
  • Halwani Cuisine: 1st day of Eid: Open 4:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. Otherwise operating normal hours.
  • Tawabil: 1st day of Eid 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Otherwise operating normal hours. 
  • Ya Hala: 1st to 3rd Day of Eid 8:00 am - 11:00 pm. Otherwise operating normal hours. 
  • Al Marsa Restaurant: 1st to 3rd day of Eid 8:00 A.M. - 11:00 P.M. Otherwise operating normal hours. Check the Eid breakfast buffet and the Eid Lunch Special menu from Al Marsa restaurant. Learn more. 
  • Smoked Ash: 1st, 2nd and 3rd days of Eid: 12:00 P.M. till 3:00 P.M. and from 5:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. Smoked Ash will be close on May 12. Otherwise operating normal hours.
  •  Barber Shop and Salon: Closed 1st and 2nd day of Eid. Otherwise operating normal hours.
  • Vet Clinic: Closed on Tuesday, May 18. Resuming regular clinic hours on Tuesday, May 25. 
  • Fakeeh Vision: Closed: May 12 - May16. Resuming normal operating hours on Monday, May 17.
  • Samba: Closed from Tuesday, May 11 until Sunday, May 16. Resuming regular office hours on Monday, May 17.  
  • SABB: Closed from Tuesday, May 11 until Sunday, May 16. Resuming regular office hours on Monday, May 17.   
  • Dr. Saud Pharmacy: 1st and 2nd  day of Eid: Open 5:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. Otherwise operating normal hours. 
  • Giordano: 1st and 2nd day of Eid: 2:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Otherwise operating normal hours. 
  • Greens: 1st day of Eid: 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Otherwise operating normal hours.

On-campus retail and restaurants 

All food outlets along the University Spine will be closed during Eid, except: Campus Diner. They will be offering a special international theme breakfast buffet, lunch buffet and dinner buffet.
