SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks film that started it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t shut up, a villain with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand... and his name is Shrek.
The show will take place at KAUST Campus, Auditorium (Building 20) for a limited run of 7 performances between March 6 – 11, 2023.
The show's duration is approximately 1 hour 50 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission.
We recommend that children are age 4 and above due to loud noises.
Yes, the seating is reserved, and you pick your assigned specific seats when you purchase your tickets (general admission or premium seating).
If you have family or friends that have purchased tickets and you want them to have visitor access to KAUST please follow the normal process for requesting visitor access on the VMS Portal.

- You will be redirected to the ticketing platform
- Do you have a KAUST ID (Yes)
- Go to ticket selection
- Payment
- Confirmation and tickets sent

Yes of course. If they are a visitor of KAUST you will need to apply for visitor access, or they can park their car at the KAUST Visitors Center Office.
- Arrive at KAUST main gate 1 and park in the Visitor Center parking lot KAUST Visitors Center Office Parking. King Abdullah Blvd, Thuwal 23956, Saudi Arabia
- Shuttle bus service between the Visitor Center and the Auditorium will be provided
- All visitors must show their tickets to Shrek to board the shuttle bus
Yes. Any individual can buy up to 9 tickets. For group ticket purchases (10+) please contact community.events@kaust.edu.sa
Our ticketing partner accepts a variety of payment methods.
All sales are final. Purchased tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable.

Refreshments, including food and drinks, will be available for purchase during the show times in the auditorium foyer.
