Located in the heart of the KAUST community, the Harbor Library provides useful programs, resources, and spaces to create opportunities. Stop by and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and a good book on the balcony with beautiful views of The Beacon!

Opening times
Location
The Harbor Library is located along the Souk Walk between Discovery Square and the Harbor Walk with a scenic view of the Red Sea shoreline. The entrance is opposite the Green Shop- here’s a map.
In front of the facility, you will find a bike station. The Souk Walk, Harbor Walk, and Discovery Square are designated pedestrian areas. All unauthorized vehicles are prohibited.

Library offerings
The Harbor Library is a place of learning where all age groups can enrich their knowledge with information from the physical or virtual e-resource library and engage in many of our programs that you can find on the website below or activity board on Ground Floor.
Community members are invited to read or work in a variety of areas, including the newly re-opened balcony with Beacon views.
Online library
In collaboration with the University Library, we have access to thousands of online resources. To access our online catalog, go to https://opac.kaust.edu.sa , and filter the search by Harbor Library.
To arrange the click and collect option, make sure you contact us at least 24 hours in advance with the list of selected sources via the email provided below.
On-site services
At the Harbor Library residents can enrich knowledge as well as engage in many of our programs, and benefit from services like:
- Access to computers,
- Toddlers weekly activities,
- Two conference rooms located on the ground floor of the facility– email us for a reservation
- Pay-per-cup coffee machine – purchase a Nespresso capsule for 5 SAR at the library reception
- Library board game time, held during the first week of each month from 9:30 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., and many more.

Personal book exchange
Take a book, leave a book! The personal book exchange is a free self-service option for enthusiastic readers, located on the ground floor of the library. Community members are invited to donate books or choose to take home books donated by someone else for free – no check-out required.
Facility refresh
As part of our commitment to the continual improvement of Community Life facilities and services, we have recently purchased additional books, re-opened the balcony seating area, and are offering even more for our youngest community members.

New books
Browse some from over 60 new books featured at the upstairs entrance! There, you will find new books, purchased based on community feedback, and presenting different genres to satisfy your curiosity.
Kids zone enhancements
Kids zone improvements include new carpets, paint, and furniture to enhance the environment for children’s programs. New programs such as Lego Time and Coloring for kids are also on offer.
A variety of activities for young children is held at the Harbor Library so that even our youngest community members can have an unforgettable experience. Story Time on Sundays, Arts and Crafts on Tuesdays. Colorings for kids on Wednesdays, and Lego Time on every other Sunday. Please be advised, pre-booking for each class is required and children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult (parent, helper, guardian) at all times.
