Our favorite, colorful event is back! KAUST’s annual 5K and 10K Fun Run will be held on Friday, March 25 along the Island Neighborhood. Everyone can play a big role in the event. We would like to welcome participants, volunteers, and spectators to join us and make this day extra fun!

Categories

The registration for participants is open now in three categories:

• 10KM for 16 years old and above:  2 laps of 5km distance (Time Trial Format)
• 5KM for 16 years old and above: 1 lap of 5km distance (Time Trial Format)
• 5KM for 12 to 16 years old: 1 lap of 5km distance (Time Trial Format)

5k Run Route (two times the distance for the 10k route) around the Island neighborhood

Entry

• Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis
• Reserve your spot today at the 5k and 10k Fun Run form
• The booking system will close when full
• On-site registration will be required on the day of the event from 7:30 A.M.
• All participants must wear the number provided during the races

Spectators and the final ceremony

All community members are welcome to join us, support and cheer for the Fun Run participants. Visit our separate Cheer on the runner’s announcement to learn more. The run will start from the Transformation Boulevard, near house number I-570X, and finish at the Island Recreation Club parking lot. The 10KM category will start at 8:00 A.M., followed by the two categories of 5KM participants at 8:10 A.M. Winners will be announced at 9:30 A.M.

To enjoy the colors to their fullest, participants are encouraged to wear white T-shirts as you’ll be doused in colored powder at the finish line!

Recreational Runners

All families are invited to participate in the run! So bring your kids, buggies if necessary and make this event even more fun. Following the racers, you will start your journey at 8:15 A.M. There are no age limits or registration requirements. Yet, we need you to have great fun and be at the finish line before the winner's announcement. 

Volunteers needed

Would you like to support this event? We need volunteers to assist with water stations, transition areas, photography, registration tables, marshals, and many more. Please contact recreation@kaust.edu.sa for more information.

Important note about safety

We would like everyone to use caution during the event between 8:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. Access to the Island Recreation Club parking lot will be limited and then closed between 8:00 A.M. and 10:00 A.M.
