​KAUST mail and courier services team members have been working harder than ever to serve the community during recent months. During the pandemic, over 15,000 shipments have been handled at KAUST, and home delivery was provided for the first time. What services are provided by Mail & Courier at KAUST?

Mail and Courier Services at KAUST cover the following functions:

• International and domestic inbound collection and delivery services
  Both UPS and DHL provide inbound services - delivering shipments and parcels directly to KAUST community members inside the campus.

• International and domestic outbound delivery services
  Both UPS and DHL provide outbound services - sending out your shipments and parcels to anywhere in the world.
  
  
• Incoming third-party shipment delivery services
  UPS provide courier services in KAUST, supplying incoming third-party shipments for collection and delivery. They collect third party shipments at the KAUST gates on your behalf and contact you to agree a schedule for delivery or collection. If you need to make a return shipment, UPS will also support to bring your package to a third party courier company representative at the KAUST gate.
  
  
• Internal mail and courier services
  As the primary courier service at KAUST, UPS also provides internal mail collection and delivery services within offices.
  
  
  

What role did Mail & Courier Services play during the COVID-19 lockdown?

The KAUST Mail & Courier Services Team played a significant role throughout the pandemic period. They are considered among the hidden heroes of the frontline, ensuring community members receive the deliveries they need – directly to their homes. During the peak period, they were handling over 3000 shipments per week of essential items including pharmaceutical goods, general goods, furniture, e-commerce shipments, and more. All while retaining the highest level of consistency and professionalism.

What's new in Mail & Courier Services?

New! Noon Lockers
In partnership with Noon, we are now providing Noon Lockers as a SMART, last mile delivery solution for Noon orders. During October, the opening month for this new service, 199 shipments were made to the Noon Lockers. "That was amazing for New Lockers," said a Noon representative. The lockers provide the flexibility to pick-up your shipments safely according to your schedule without additional shipping fees. The lockers are available 24/7 and are located in the Discovery Square mailroom. Watch the video below to see how it works or read more about Noon Lockers at KAUST. 

New! SMSA Courier Services

We have also launched a partnership with SMSA Express and Transportation Co. to provide courier services to the community. SMSA will located at the General Warehouse in the CSD area to assist in all your inbound and outbound shipments from and to KAUST, including prepaid shipments shipped by SMSA and purchased through e-shopping websites. Learn more and contact SMSA at KAUST.
