Mark your calendars for the first-ever KAUST Wellbeing Week! A week-long program that enriches your life and supports your overall wellbeing by focusing on five pillars: connect, be active, take notice, keep learning, and give. Open to the entire KAUST community and partners. 

We have an exciting lineup of programs and activities designed around the below pillars will be shared here closer to event date.

Featured Programs

Register for the Bike Road Race

Mark your calendars and register today for the Bike Road Race hosted by Community Life and Spokes Hub. The Bike Road Race is organized as part of Wellbeing Week, and Earth Day 2024 celebrations at KAUST to encourage the community to “Bike for Climate”. Various biking activities will be organized around this week, which will be shared soon.   

Community Life, Red Sea Cyclists, TKS, and the Office of Sustainability are collaborating on this front to steer our community towards healthier lifestyles and a cleaner environment.  

The time trial Bike Road Race, tailored for the community, puts you in a thrilling race against the clock. Feel the rush as you pedal your way to victory, competing against the relentless tick of time. Join us for an exhilarating event that promises heart-pounding excitement and unforgettable memories.  

 

Event Details  

Date: April 26 

Time: 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. 

Location: King Abdullah Monument

Format: Time Trial 

Age Categories: 15 - 30 years and 31 years + 

Categories:  

  • Elite Cyclist: 4 laps, total 36 km distance (costs 57 sar)  

  • Sport Cyclist: 2 laps, total of 18 km distance (costs 35 sar)  

 

 

Note: All participants must arrive at the starting area ahead of time to confirm their participation at the registration table.

Bike for Climate  

From April 21 to 27, we will 'Bike for Climate,' your chance to pedal against the tide of greenhouse gas emissions from personal vehicles that fuel global warming and trigger severe environmental events. When you choose to bike, you’re powering more than just your journey. You're actively supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—especially Goal #3 for health and well-being, and Goal #13 for climate action. 

Your journey to wellbeing and eco-consciousness can begin with a simple bike ride. Let's ride together for health and harmony with nature.

Earth Day Celebrations 

KAUST is celebrating Earth Day 2024, themed “Planet vs. Plastics” on Monday, April 22, with a range of exciting activities organized by different departments across the campus that promote sustainability and environmental awareness. Join us in our efforts to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for ourselves and generations to come. More information will be shared soon.

Be curious. Catch sight of the beautiful. Remark on the unusual. Notice the changing seasons. Savour the moment, whether you are walking to work, eating lunch or talking to friends. Be aware of the world around you and what you are feeling. Reflecting on your experiences will help you appreciate what matters to you.

KEEP LEARNING​

Try something new. Rediscover an old interest. Sign up for that course. Take on a different responsibility at work. Fix a bike. Learn to play an instrument or how to cook your favorite food. Set a challenge you will enjoy achieving. Learning new things will make you more confident as well as being fun.

Do something nice for a friend, or a stranger. Thank someone. Smile. Volunteer your time. Join a community group. Look out, as well as in. Seeing yourself, and your happiness, linked to the wider community can be incredibly rewarding and creates connections with the people around you.

Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community, and research has shown that it can also have positive effects on your own health and wellbeing.
