Residents are required to keep their backyard lawns and hedges well groomed in order to maintain a clean campus appearance. Front gardens and lawns will be maintained by KAUST.​

The horticulture team also run a fully-fledged greenhouse located at the rear of the gardening & sanitation building in the central services area. ​The greenhouse have items for sale such as:

• Indoor and outdoor plants.
  
• Fertilizers and soil amendments.
  
• Garden tools.
  
• ​Garden decorative items.
  
• Pest control
