Flu Vaccine extend one more week

14 November, 2024

KAUST Health and Government Affairs, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and IMC, are excited to share that, to give everyone the chance to receive their flu vaccine, we are extending the flu vaccine clinic for one more week. Don’t miss this opportunity—book your appointment today!

Please read the information below carefully before scheduling your visit.

Important to know about the flu vaccine program:

  •
  • Registration requirement:  Bring your Iqama or Saudi National ID, if your Iqama is not issued yet, please bring your passport entry boarder number.
  • Come to your appointment on time: This is important to manage the flow of people and ensure waiting times are minimized.
  • The vaccine will be administered to your arm:  Please wear loose clothes so that you can easily roll up your sleeve.
  • If children are not booked for vaccination, please avoid bringing them to the clinic if possible.
  • If a booking is made on the same day, note you might be required to fill in a form at the ER reception.

How to book your flu vaccine:

  • Login to the flu vaccine booking system .
  • Select yourself or dependent from the list under your profile.
  • Select a convenient time/date and complete the questions.
  • A confirmation email will be sent with details of the booking.
  • If you do not have access to the registration system, please come as a walk-in from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm (be aware you may have to wait to be seen)

Who is eligible for the flu vaccine:

All KAUST residents, employees and KAUST contractor workforce are eligible for the vaccine, but it is highly recommended for the following groups:

  • Pregnant women
  • Over 65 years
  • Children from the age of 6 months upwards
  • Those with chronic diseases (e.g. asthma or diabetes)
  • Those with a weak or low immune system
  • Registered carers and healthcare workers

Please note that this vaccine program is for all KAUST residents, employees/contractors and visitors

Flu vaccine and children:

Some children aged 6-months through 8-years require two doses of the flu vaccine. The first dose essentially "primes" the immune system, while the second dose provides immune protection.  If your child is getting vaccinated for the first time or has only previously received one dose of vaccine, your child should get two doses this season. If your child has previously gotten two doses of vaccine (at any time) s/he only needs one dose this season. The second dose should be given at least 28 days after the first dose.

Please book a regular appointment to get your child the second dose if s/he needs one.
