Captured aboard the S/Y Odisea, a 6-year global sailing expedition, you will witness stunning 8K footage, photos and behind-the-scenes stories from his expeditions, Filipe weaves a captivating narrative about the power of natural history and the critical role of conservation in preserving marine life.  

Through his lens, you'll experience breathtaking encounters with sharks, whales, and jaguars while learning how wildlife storytelling can ignite change and inspire global action. Filipe’s signature humor and passion bring light to the often challenging and unique world of underwater filmmaking. About Filipe DeAndrade 

Filipe DeAndrade, an Emmy-winning wildlife filmmaker and National Geographic Explorer, grew up in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro before moving to Cleveland, Ohio. For Filipe, the camera is a powerful tool to illuminate rare natural behaviors, urgent conservation issues, and the dedicated people working to protect wildlife. Since graduating from the University of Florida in 2012, he has won over ten Emmys, helped re-list Grey Wolves on the Endangered Species Act, and outlawed wildlife-killing contests in five states. His work includes over 100 hours of television and film for Netflix, Disney, National Geographic, and more.  

Touring with Nat Geo Live, Filipe has shared his story in over 30 international cities, and his team has developed a unique conservation curriculum for public schools in Costa Rica. Driven by a love for nature and a mission to inspire, Filipe dedicates his life to using storytelling to protect our planet’s wildest places.
