The Community Life Transportation Services team is pleased to announce enhancements to the bus schedules. These changes have been created based on community feedback and are designed to offer you extra convenience.

What’s new for the on-campus shuttle services 

Effective Sunday, January 22, 2023

Oasis Route: The route will add four new stops to help TKS students reach GES directly without transferring buses. Research Park areas (CMOR, ARAMCO, DOW, and KRTP) will be removed due to low utilization. 
Staff working in the Research Park area must transfer to the Palms bus at Bldg. 16, with a 5-minute wait. Expect a 10-minute wait in Tamimi on the way back to Oasis, as with the other routes.

Palms Route: The route will be returned excluding Bldg. 18 and KAUST Health while adding the Research Park area. The route will go straight to Bldg. 16 from the Palms area. The Palms bus will not serve areas near the Research Park after 4:00 p.m. The last stop will be at Bldg. 14, and the bus will go straight to Tamimi and then back to Palms neighborhood.
Support bus to KRTP area: There will be a designated bus covering Bldg. 16, CMOR, DOW, ARAMCO, and the Research Park every hour from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. going straight to the Palms and the Oasis areas.

What’s new for the off-campus bus services

Effective February 3, 2023, & as a pilot for one month.
Extra morning buses to Red Sea Mall and Mall of Arabia:
An extra bus to the Red Sea Mall and Mall of Arabia will be added every Friday morning in addition to the afternoon bus. This bus will leave KAUST at 10:30 a.m. and return at 5:30 p.m.

• Red Sea Mall on February 3 and 17
• Mall of Arabia on February 10 and 24

Reduced Balad trips

The number of Balad trips will be reduced to one per week every Friday.

Bus to Tahlia Street area

A new bus route to serve the Tahlia Street area is added every Thursday evening. The bus will stop at Jeddah International Market (JIM), one of the oldest malls in Jeddah. The mall and areas around it are popular destination for shopping and restaurants along Tahlia street. There are always taxis available at JIM to get to other local destinations in the area.
