Island Recreation Club

Let’s get competition-ready! The Island Recreation Club, in cooperation with the Saudi Climbing and Hiking Federation, will start offering climbing classes to children aged 10 to 15 every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at the IRC Climbing Wall. Starting Monday, January 16, children can join our highly skilled coaches to hone their climbing techniques, master rope handling, and significantly raise their chances of winning our upcoming climbing competition  in February!

Entry

• Booking is not required. First come, first served.
• Classes are free of charge.
• Each class can welcome up to 6 children.
• All climbers are required to use the safety equipment.
• Free gear rental is available.
• Food, soft and hot drinks, strollers, skates or heeled shoes, and heavy equipment are not allowed. Learn more about the climbing wall rules and regulations.

The Climbing Wall will remain open for climbers from Monday till Wednesday, 4:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. as usual.

KAUST Partnership with the Saudi Climbing and Hiking Federation

KAUST recently started a partnership with the Saudi Climbing and Hiking Federation (SCHF) to join efforts to promote and develop the sport of climbing on a national level. The SCHF is the national governing body of all aspects of rock climbing and hiking in Saudi Arabia. If you’d like to be a member or learn more about them, click here.
