JCI reaccreditation

08 December, 2019

We are pleased to announce that KAUST Health was recently reaccredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI).

JCI accreditation and certification is recognized as a global symbol of excellence in the quality of healthcare delivery that reflects an organization's commitment to meeting several evidence-based quality performance standards.

KAUST Health were initially awarded this accreditation in 2016 upon which we entered a three-yearly cycle of re-evaluation.  This accreditation demonstrates that KAUST Health has systems, processes, and policies in place and most importantly that our clinical and administrative teams are following these in their day to day duties ensuring we meet and often exceed these leading standards of quality for patient care. The successful accreditation also indicates that there is a mechanism in place for regular measurement and analysis of performance leading to innovation and a program of continuous improvement.

The accreditation criteria are comprehensive and a number of areas were assessed by the survey team who were complementary to KAUST Health's approach and the quality of services offered to our community. These areas include, but are not limited to:

·       International patient safety goals

·       Assessment of patients

·       Care of patients

·       Quality improvement

·       Infection prevention and control

·       Governance, leadership, and direction

KAUST Health remains committed to ensuring that our community has access to the best healthcare facilities and services possible.
