Waste to Art Workshop: Learn the Art of Glass Painting

The Waste to Art Workshop series offers free courses designed to help you discover the hidden potential of materials that are often discarded, turning them into unique works of art.

This workshop series aims to foster creative thinking by encouraging participants to see everyday materials in a new light. By developing these skills, we promote both creativity and sustainability within our community.

Learn the Art of Glass Painting

Our first course focuses on glass painting led by Averda’s talented in-house artist, Dima Al-Rifai. Glass food containers are common in every household—why not transform them into stunning decorative pieces? This beginner-friendly course will teach you the basics of glass painting, unlocking endless possibilities for reusing these containers in creative and sustainable ways.

  • Place: Art Studio, Island Recreation Club (IRC)
  • Materials: All art-related materials will be provided, and you are welcome to bring your own glass containers if you prefer.
  • Date: Saturday, September 28 and October 5.
  • The course is primarily aimed at adults; children are welcome to join if accompanied by a parent.
  • No prior experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm to learn!
