Introduction to the Bargue Drawing Course

Nelson Ferreira, a renowned Portuguese drawing specialist who teaches drawing to Walt Disney artists, will conduct a two-day workshop on the classical Bargue drawing style. This style was the most important drawing style of the 19th century and is known for its accurate proportions.

The workshop is open to all KAUST community members who want to learn how to draw accurately by eye. Nelson Ferreira has previously conducted popular workshops during Wellbeing Week, and this workshop promises to be just as informative and engaging.

The Bargue Course is a complete classical drawing course that some of the most accomplished artists, such as Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh, took. The entire course takes 30 hours, but on Sunday, May 26, Nelson offers a short 3-hour introduction that will give a deep insight into the fundamentals of classical drawing techniques.

Those who have already attended level 1 are welcome to move on to the templates for level 2 by attending the May 27 session.
