Community Life, in collaboration with Open Paws Jeddah (OPJ), is pleased to announce the first-ever Dog Adoption Day at KAUST on January 27. This event aims to help lovable and cuddly dogs find their forever homes.
Around 20 dogs of varying breeds and sizes will be available for adoption, each with unique personalities and traits. Adoption profiles and procedures are available on the Open Paws website.
International Animal Care (IAC) will provide vet checks for the dogs adopted at the event. Plus, there's a 30% discount on their first visit to IAC hospital.
Salwa Kennel grooming will be available on-site to groom any adopted dogs and offer exclusive discounts.
Baked goods, OPJ calendars and dog accessories will be available for sale, with all proceeds going to Open Paws Jeddah.
Medd Cafe will provide 50 free cups of coffee for the attendees.
Please note that outside dogs are not allowed at the event as we want to keep the focus on adoptable dogs. The Island Dog Park will be closed for KAUST dogs during this time.
Remember, adopting a dog is a big decision, but it is also one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. So, take your time, meet our furry friends, and who knows, you might just find your new best friend today.
Let's make this a successful adoption day for all our furry friends!
At Open Paws Jeddah (OPJ), our mission is simple and revolves around four main activities: adoption, fostering, rescue, and rehoming. We ensure that every dog in our organization is given the proper care, training, and support they need until we find the most suitable forever home for them. Our care and support for the dogs continue even after they have been adopted because once an OPJ dog, always an OPJ dog.
This activity is related to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, which focuses on promoting Good Health and Well-being. Interacting with animals has been shown to reduce levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lowers blood pressure. Studies have also found that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support, and boost mood.
