Learn more about the Horticulture program and native plants at KAUST
Wednesday, June 15, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
All are welcome to attend the next KGS meeting, where you’ll have a unique opportunity to learn more about how the gardens, green spaces, and landscaping at KAUST are managed. Two people who play a key role in the design and maintenance of the campus green spaces will be our featured speakers. Please join us on Wednesday, June 15, from 7:00-8:30 p.m, in the Early Childhood Center (Google maps link here. Note that the Center is near TKS between Oasis and Cactus Lanes.)
Majed is in charge of the horticultural ground services and will provide an overview of horticulture at campus, the coverage area, the service elements, and the variety of plants found at KAUST. He will also highlight the challenges that come with the maintenance of such a large green area, and discuss various programs and initiatives that are currently underway.
Shahzad Ghauri is a Senior Environmental Specialist from the team of Mohamed Omar (Manager Environmental Protection), and will present the team’s experience in propagating native plants at KAUST - what worked and what did not work.
After the presentations there will be time for questions for Majed, Shahzad and Omar.
We encourage everyone to attend in person, but if you are unable, Zoom information is below.
