International Arboretum – here’s a map

Music for the community, by the community

As part of the Picnics in the Park concert series, a group of talented community musicians will be playing at the International Arboretum on Saturday, June 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Bring your food and a picnic blanket and enjoy the sunset concert by listening to some of KAUST’s best musicians. This edition will feature the Agoraphonics, Giovanni Vorraro, and Vagabanda.

The Agoraphonics, a TKS teacher’s band have been performing at KAUST events and beyond for years now. We can expect great music and a lot of fun from this group of excellent musicians.

Giovanni Vorraro will be performing his own set for the first time in KAUST. An experienced performer, Gio started playing guitar as a child by approaching classical guitar music. As he grew up, he moved on to blues, which is still his favorite genre, along with jazz, rock, and world music contaminations. Now he mainly plays country blues or rearranged pop songs while exploring the different musical cultures of the places he lives in.

Vagabanda is a new Brazilian group in KAUST that came together to perform at the last Parade of Nations. You might have sampled their warm Brazilian rhythms then, but this time they will deliver a full course of rich Brazilian musical diversity.
