KAUST Open Gardens Day – Friday, March 25, 3:00-6:30 p.m.

The KAUST Garden Society is very pleased to announce the first KAUST Open Gardens Day. It will offer the opportunity to visit a number of private gardens on the Island that we believe are beautiful to see, are inspirational, and may give you some good ideas for what could be achieved in your own backyard, patio, or balcony.

The gardens are all located on the Island and can be visited during the afternoon from 3:00-6:30 p.m. (15.00 – 18.30). They provide a good mix of different types of approaches with regards to landscaping, types of vegetation, and maintenance. The owners will be present for explanations about the plants and how to care for them.

Please note that access to gardens will be through the side gates, which will be signposted

Villa I-5629 – Birgit Henrich

Beautiful large garden with individual trees and palms. Note the Golden Barrel cactus in flower!

Villa I-5630 – Smart House

A minimalistic garden for a house with a modern architectural look. Vegetation contrasts well with white pebbles.

Villa I-5631 – Frans van Buchem

A delightful palm and succulent garden with grassy borders. The striking features are the Royal Palms.

Villa I-5730 - Arnab Pain

A very colorful garden with many vegetables and fruit trees which do well due to the good use of fertilizers and soil improvements.

Villa I-5716 – Lama Peyroles

A cozy garden full of surprises, with a variation of herbs and fruit trees and a lovely sea view.
