​Community Life, in collaboration with Government Affairs, Strategic National Advancement, and MACC invite you to celebrate Saudi National Day with us on Wednesday, September 23.
With your safety in mind, we are organizing socially distant festivities to celebrate this special occasion! Dress in green and white and join us for the following activities:
- Decorate your house! Wouldn't it be great to see lots of decorated houses around the community to celebrate Saudi National Day? Decorate the front of your house and send your house number and a photo of your decorations to getengaged@kaust.edu.sa. A prize will be offered for the best idea or decoration.
- Community Decorated Car Parade 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. Decorate your car and take part in the community car parade starting at 4:00 P.M. from the Safaa Stadium parking lot. A prize will be offered for the best or most imaginatively decorated car! If you would like to decorate your vehicle and take part in the parade, please e-mail getengaged@kaust.edu.sa with your name and KAUST ID. The number of cars/golf carts in the parade is limited to 50, with a maximum of one car per household. Community Car Parade Car Route.
- Horses Parade and National Anthem 6:15 P.M. Horses parade and the national anthem will take the same route below starting from Oasis and ending at Safa Stadium.
- Traditional Performers Parade 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. A roaming cultural parade will be making their way through the neighborhoods of KAUST which will feature decorated wagons providing socially-distanced entertainment, art, and culture. Each parade wagon features different celebratory themes and traditions of Saudi Arabia.
Event Route and estimate Timing:
- Start point Oasis to Garden approx. 6:38 P.M.
- Start point from Garden to Island approx. 7:04 P.M.
- Start point from Island to Harbor approx. 7:48 P.M.
- Start point Harbor to Garden approx. 7:57 P.M.
- Start point Garden to Oasis (Safaa Stadium) approx. 8:15 P.M.
- Extending Celebration to Thuwal 8:30 P.M. Once the Traditional Performers Parade has passed through the KAUST community, it will move to the Thuwal Corniche after 8:30 P.M. to share the celebration with our neighbors in Thuwal.
Safety Reminders
Please stay in your family group, practice social distancing, and follow all Keeping KAUST Safe Guidelines. Parents, please also remember to be responsible for the safety of your young children around the vehicles.
