Autonomous Shuttles Event

Dear KAUST community,

You may have seen autonomous shuttles circulating the campus over the last few weeks. This project is part of the KAUST SMART program to create a “smart campus” and introduce enhanced mobility experiences to our community. It is also pioneering the introduction of self-driving technology in Saudi Arabia. From our focus groups in the last month, we have listened to your feedback and are excited to now launch this groundbreaking new technology together with all of you.

We would like to invite you to a community event on the evening of December 11, 2019, in Discovery Square to officially launch the pilot phase of this project on campus. You will have the opportunity to check out the shuttles and meet the teams behind this next-generation technology. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions directly to the University’s leadership and our partners: Local Motors and Easy Mile. There will be activities for all ages and snacks and treats will be available for everyone.
