Bike Week

Bike Week 2019 – brought to you by HSE, Community Life and KAUST Sustainability – will take place from November 9 to November 15.

KAUST Bike Week has three areas of focus: sustainability, health and safety, and having fun!  It is an opportunity to consciously think about how you can live more sustainably (including more sustainable ways of traveling around the campus), to review and ensure you are cycling in a safe and healthy way… and to come together as a community and have fun!

  • Bike Week kicks off on Saturday November 9 with a bike skills training event delivered by HSE – for Elementary school aged children at Safaa Stadium from 4:00 P.M.

  • This is followed by a Sunset Bike Ride to the King Abdullah Monument – starting from the parking lot at the Safaa Stadium on Saturday November 9 at 5:45 P.M. which is open to the whole community.

There is a busy week of activity in all three of areas of focus including bike rides, a bike race, a panel discussion about making KAUST a more cycle-friendly town, activities in The KAUST School and for our younger cyclists, and much more.

The finale to Bike Week is on Friday November 15:

  • The KAUST Annual Bike Race – 20k or 60k starting at 6:30 A.M. from Discovery Square.  Please register in advance for the bike race.
  • 5k Family Bike Ride – at 9:30 A.M also starting from Discovery Square. No need to register.
