The Art Club offers classes, workshops, and two studios where members can attend workshops run by art teachers, and also work on their own projects.

Join the Art club classes. The Art club is offering workshops in oil painting, acrylic painting, ceramics, Arabic calligraphy, clay polymer modelling, and kids’ art. Classes take place at the Island Recreation Club art and ceramic studios.

The following workshops are available starting in October, 2024 after the mid-term break, so register for Art Club Classes by clicking on the links:

 

 

Sundays: oil painting workshop: Learn classical oil painting techniques from a very experienced art teacher, for beginners, intermediate and advanced painters.

Start date: Sunday, October 27

Mondays: acrylic painting workshop: Learn acrylic painting techniques from a very experienced art teacher, for beginners, intermediate and advanced painters.

Start date: Monday,October 28.

Tuesdays: ceramics workshop: You will learn to throw pots on a pottery wheel, and how to hand-build pinch pots, coil pots and slab pots.

Start date: Tuesday, October 29.

Tuesdays: Arabic calligraphy workshop: You will explore the history, techniques and various script styles to compose your own calligraphic designs. You will also learn the cultural and aesthetic significance of Arabic calligraphy in all its locations, but especially in Islamic mosques.

Wednesdays: clay polymer modelling workshop. You will learn the basic techniques of sculpting with polymer clay to build figures, and animals, carving details, and contours that will bring realism to your models.

Saturdays: kids’ art workshops: These classes are for K1 – G5 kids. There are two classes: 9am-10am and 10 am-11am.
