Wednesday, March 15 Facilities Management (FM) held their Shaabana and FM Quarterly Gathering at the beautiful Safaa Golf Club Outdoor Area. The event, which lasted from 4 pm to 6 pm, was a perfect opportunity for the FM team to come together, celebrate their accomplishments, and enjoy a fun evening filled with golf, delicious Arabic food, and lively music from a DJ.

The highlight of the gathering was a presentation by Vice President Matthew Early, who discussed KAUST and sepsifically Facilities Management results in the Great Place to Work survey. Mr. Early presented the results of the Engagement Survey facilitated by Human Resources at KAUST.

In addition to Mr Early's speech, the event also featured the introduction of the new Mid-Year Employee Awards, which celebrated outstanding team members for their dedication and hard work. To view the complete list of nominees, please click here.

Out of the many talented nominees, five winners were selected as Awardees and received a Certificate of Excellence. The honorees included:

Bernard Llovore, Chilled Water Con & Reliability Specialist;

Sufyan Khan, Waste Management Services Manager;

Vanishree Shivamurthy, Business Systems Support Administrator;

Ahmed Alghamdi, Events Lead; and Amani Almuwallid, Project Planner.

The Director of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) at KAUST also presented the prestigious KAUST HSE Impact Awards. The winner of the Distinguished Leadership in Safety award was Hesham Alsulaimani, Director of Utilities Services from FM. Mr. Alsulaimani's commitment to safety and his outstanding leadership in the department were recognized and celebrated by his peers and colleagues.

The Shaabana and FM Quarterly Gathering proved to be a successful and memorable event for all in attendance, as they enjoyed each other's company, played golf, and the Arabic cuisine. The gathering also featured a cozy corner for socializing and relaxing, allowing team members to unwind and bond over the exciting evening.

The Facilities Management department at KAUST continues to strive for excellence and maintain it's support to make KAUST as a Great Place to Work, thanks in no small part to the dedication and passion of its talented team members.
