KAUST Lead Climbing Competition Updates

Preparations are in full force for our upcoming KAUST Lead Climbing Competition and as a result we would like to announce the following:

 

Climbing Wall Closure

In order to set up the routes and the equipment, the Climbing Wall will be closed from February 6 to February 12. It will open again on Monday, February 13 as per the usual schedule.

 

Postponement of the Youth and Kids Categories

Youth and Kids will have more time to prepare since the upcoming competition will be exclusively dedicated to the Adults Category.

 

Spectators

Not a climber? You can still join us to cheer on your favorite climbers to the top.

About the KAUST Lead Climbing Competition

The event is the first official national climbing competition to be held at KAUST, in collaboration with the Saudi Climbing and Hiking Federation. Winners will receive cash prizes ranging from 500 SAR to 3,000 SAR.

KAUST recently started a partnership with the Saudi Climbing and Hiking Federation (SCHF) to join efforts to promote and develop the sport of climbing on a national level. The SCHF is the national governing body of all aspects of rock climbing and hiking in Saudi Arabia. If you’d like to be a member or learn more about them, click here.
