In June 2019 a group of ten KAUST Juventus Academy players joined forty other players from Saudi Arabia on a trip to the Juventus Academy World Cup 2019 in Turin, Italy. Almost 100 parents accompanied their young players to cheer them on.
Juventus Academy players from many nations around the world gathered together at the Villagio Olympico in Bardonecchia – a location at the intersection of four valleys with mountains as its stunning backdrop. Competing here was an incredible experience for the 85 teams of Juventinis from 28 countries… 1004 players, 186 coaches and more than 1100 parents.
Our KAUST team played in the U10 category. They played three games during the group stages and then went on to play in the knockout games. In addition to playing football, the group got to watch Italy play Bosnia in the European Qualifier at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, visit the Juventus Museum and shop at the Juventus Megastore.
The Finals and Closing Ceremony were also held at the Allianz Stadium – hosted by Gianluca Pessotto, the current Juventus Academy Director and former Juventus player.

Well done, KAUST Juventinis!
