Who is eligible for the flu vaccine:

Anyone resident in the KAUST community is eligible for the vaccine, but it is highly recommended for the following groups:

  • Pregnant women
  • Over 65 years
  • Children from the age of 6 months upwards
  • Those with chronic diseases (e.g., asthma or diabetes)
  • Those with a weak or low immune system
  • Registered carers and healthcare workers

Please note that this vaccine program is for all KAUST residents and employees/contractors only.

Non-resident service providers are not permitted to book at this time.

Flu vaccine and children

Some children aged 6-months through 8-years require two doses of the flu vaccine. The first dose essentially "primes" the immune system, while the second dose provides immune protection.  If your child is getting vaccinated for the first time or has only previously received one dose of vaccine, your child should get two doses this season. If your child has previously gotten two doses of vaccine (at any time) s/he only needs one dose this season. The second dose should be given at least 28 days after the first dose. Be sure to get your child a second dose if s/he needs one.
