Happy World Food safety day!
World Food Safety Day is celebrated annually on June 7 to draw attention and inspire action to help prevent, detect, and manage foodborne risks.
The Community Life Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQ) team is continuously implementing and improving a world-class food safety system from farm to plate. The goal is to safeguard the KAUST community and establish a trusting relationship with community members. To this end, the FSQ team continuously provides training and monitoring of food at KAUST throughout the year.
To celebrate World Food Safety Day, the FSQ team is organizing a series of training for selected food handlers at KAUST. The training is accredited by Highfield, an international organization that specializes in Food Safety training. Organizations that register for Highfield programs show a commitment to achieving the very highest standards of food safety.
This year, a team of professionals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has planned a World Food Safety Day symposium in Riyadh. This event is the first of its kind in the Kingdom and will attract professionals from industry, academia, and local regulatory bodies.
The Community Life Food Safety and Quality Lead, Mariem Ben Said, will be a speaker on the topic of the role of food safety in sustainability.
Food safety and quality is important to all community members at KAUST. The Community Life Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQ) team is passionate about applying the highest standards when taking care of our food. The team consists of qualified professionals in the field and aims to assure community members that their food is always safe while supporting Food Service Providers to adapt and develop their services in a competitive environment.
