The Art Club offers classes, workshops, and two studios where members can work on their own projects.
Upcoming activities include classes in oil painting, watercolour painting, ceramics, Islamic geometry art, clay polymer modelling, and kids’ art.
Classes take place at the Island Recreation Club art studio and ceramic studio.
The following workshops are available starting in October 2023 after the TKS mid-term break:
Sundays: Oil Painting Workshop
Learn classical oil painting techniques from a very experienced art teacher, for beginners, intermediate and advanced painters.
Start date: October 29
Tuesdays: Ceramics Workshop
You will learn to throw pots on a pottery wheel, and how to hand-build pinch pots, coil pots and slab pots.
Start date: October 31
Tuesdays: Watercolor Painting Workshop
You will learn about the watercolor palette, different techniques of how to use watercolor paints, and how to paint scenes of landscapes, seascapes and buildings.
Start date: October 31
Wednesdays: Clay Polymer Modelling Workshop
You will learn the basic techniques of sculpting with polymer clay to build figures, and animals, carving details, and contours that will bring realism to your models.
Start date: October 25
Wednesdays: Islamic Geometry Art Workshop
You will learn about the geometry of Islamic art patterns and how to design and draw your own Islamic art patterns, and even how to make your patterns in wood, gypsum and ceramics tiles.
Saturdays: Kids’ Art Workshops
These classes are for K1 – G5 kids. There are two times: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Click on the appropriate link to register.
