Breast Cancer Awareness and Race for Life

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. To mark this important event, KAUST Health is holding a promotional program to encourage women over 40 to get screened for breast cancer. So far this month, there have been 73 screenings which is a 6-fold increase over the normal monthly screening rate – and the month isn’t over yet!

Early detection of breast cancer is key to increasing survival rates. KAUST Health encourages all women to conduct regular self-examinations. Women aged forty and over are recommended to be screened by a medical professional. A mammogram machine is also on-hand at KAUST Health to save women a trip to Jeddah for further investigations.

Get more information about this program and schedule your screening today. For your free screening, please book an appointment with OB/GYN or Family Medicine by calling 940 or 012 808 0940, or book online.

The Recreation Team held a great event this weekend to raise awareness about breast cancer awareness. Thanks to all our community members who engaged in the treadmill race. Over 90 community members participated, completing over 250 km during the two day stint. Congrats....you know who you are! Thanks for supporting this important cause.
